Equipment Transfers and Purchase

In order to determine the need for equipment, an annual inventory is requested from each of the not-for-profit hospitals in the District. Additionally, a request is made to each hospital to identify any surplus and/or needed equipment. In the case of surplus equipment, the VLEI attempts to find a need in other hospitals. Through the cooperation of the hospital administrators, a cost-free transfer is facilitated. When additional equipment is needed and is not available through a transfer, the VLEI Board evaluates the need and within the limits of available funding, purchases the equipment either totally or in part.
